Texas Coastal CattleWomen awards annually, a minimum of two (2) college scholarships in the amount of $4,000 per scholarship.

General Scholarship for 2025
History
Texas Coastal CattleWomen, Inc. (TCCW,) is a 501c3 local affiliate of Texas CattleWomen, Inc. (TCW) and American National CattleWomen (ANCW). Our purpose is to work for the betterment of the beef industry through promoting beef, education, and legislation. Our local organization welcomes members from any county in Texas to work with us in the serving of the following counties: Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Walker, Waller, and Wharton.
Annually, the Texas Coastal CattleWomen, Inc. awards the following scholarships to students attending accredited Texas colleges or universities:
* $1,000 High School Seniors
* $4,000 College Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors ($2000 for Fall Semester and $2000 for Spring Semester)
ELIGIBILITY :
1. Classification:
a. Graduating High School Seniors: must be admitted to an Accredited four-year College or
University in Texas for the Fall term, to enroll in at least 12 hours per semester.
b. College Students: must be a student enrolled in an Accredited 4-year College or University in
Texas. (at least 24 completed semester hours)
i. Grade point average of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale for college students.
2. Residence:
a. Must be a United States citizen (US-born or naturalized) to be considered.
b. Must have graduated from a Texas High School or equivalent in one of the above-named
counties. Valedictorians will not be considered because of funding by the State of Texas.
c. Must maintain a permanent address in one of the named counties. (via parent or guardian’s
address is acceptable)
3. Major (or the equivalent) in one of the following:
a. Agriculture
b. Consumer Science - Hotel & Restaurant Management
c. Consumer Science – Culinary Arts or Food Science
d. Wildlife Management
4. Enrolled Credit Hours:
a. Must be enrolled and maintain twelve (12) semester hours minimum each semester.
b. Must show evidence of successful academics and the expectation of continued enrollment in
college.
5. Student Qualities:
a. Must show evidence of leadership qualities and participation in associated student activities.
b. Must show evidence of being a well-balanced individual, considering physical, mental and social
development with high moral standards.
c. Must show the ability to relate and work well with others.
d. Must show an interest in and willingness to support production and consumption of beef.

The applicant must provide the completed Texas Coastal CattleWomen Scholarship Application and all
above items to be considered no later than June 30th.
Late or incomplete applications and supporting documents will

Application Checklist:
1. Online application, completed, download in PDF or JPEG format;
2. Personal essay (500 words or less) about yourself, your interest in and willingness to support the
beef industry, as well as your career goals. Must be typed.
3. List of the academic achievements, community service, leadership and work experience;
4. Copy of official high school or college transcript reflecting hours, including GPA;
5. Two (2) letters of recommendation from non-related people, e.g., a responsible church,
community, or school professional.
If selected, scholarship winners agree to the following:
1. To acknowledge TCCW scholarship payments are made directly to the college or university:
For High School Seniors/College Freshmen, $1000 will be sent one time to the school in the Fall.
For College Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors, $4000 will be paid directly to the school, in two
installments: $2000 in the Fall Semester and $2000 in the Spring Semester. Students must
submit proof of maintained eligibility and meeting the required TCCW deadlines. Student must
keep contact information updated, with TCCW, and demonstrate maintaining academic
requirements to receive funds.
2. To provide any changes to personal contact information, such as address, phone and email,
to the Scholarship Committee at TCCWscholarship2025@gmail.com within seven (7) days of
such occurrence. Failure to send could result in the forfeiting of the remaining scholarship
balance.
3. To send proof of enrollment no later than September 20. Failure to send could result in the
forfeiting of the remaining scholarship balance. Proof must be emailed to Scholarship
Committee at TCCWscholarship2025@gmail.com in .PDF or .JPEG format.
4. To send an official transcript showing the minimum required hours was completed, with a
grade point of 2.5, during the Fall Semester no later than January 20 to
receive the money for the Spring Semester. Failure to send could result in the forfeiting of the
remaining scholarship balance. Proof must be emailed to Scholarship Committee at
TCCWscholarship2025@gmail.com in .PDF or .JPEG format.
5. To provide a photo in .JPEG or .TIFF format and authorize TCCW to publish this photo and
his/her name and likeness, in TCCW’s print, online and video-based marketing materials, as
well as other publications, social media sites and fundraiser promotions.
6. Funds will be sent directly to the student's College or University.
SUMMARY
Scholarship Applicants will be notified of his or her selection or rejection by July 30th. Applicants
who are selected and those students not selected are encouraged to reapply annually.
